New calculation sheet for wooden constructions

Our acoustic design tools have been enhanced with a new calculation sheet for predicting the DnT,A and LnT,w indices of wooden constructions!

CLARITY STUDIO is proud to announce the creation of a new calculation specifically for the acoustic indices DnT,A (airborne sound insulation) and LnT,w (impact sound level) for wooden constructions.

This sheet, based on ISO 12354-1:2017 and ISO 12354-2:2017 standards, has been designed to address the specific characteristics of wooden structures, whose acoustic parameters are often poorly documented, enabling the acoustic performance of buildings to be predicted whilst complying with regulatory and environmental requirements.

This new calculation sheet has been developed using the results of the ADIVBOIS project, which collected accurate acoustic data using a 1:1 scale model. Built in 2019, this model was used to measure, among others, the junction attenuation indices (Kij) between structural elements made of wood, such as floors, walls and CLT partitions. These measurements, carried out by the CSTB and various consultancies, made it possible to evaluate vibration isolation performance and analyse the impact of joints on vibration propagation. Based on this essential data, the new calculation sheet offers a reliable method for predicting the acoustic indices DnT,A and LnT,w from the results of actual tests.
