Clarity is a Paris-based design office, specialised in lighting. We operate in project development, from design phase to completion. Our scope of operations is on both a national and international scale.
Our founder, Thomas Argence, is consultant engineer and has a Master degree in Acoustics and Lighting Engineering. Alongside his work as an acoustician, he always had an interest in working with lighting. He was introduced to this in London, within a subsidiary of Mott MacDonald. Returning to Paris to join the Lamoureux consultancy, he managed the lighting of the The Shoah Memorial in Drancy and the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.
In 2010, he co-founded Alternative in Paris, where he was a partner for six years. He developed the light pole and was in charge of numerous projects such as Lieu de vie in Saclay (Equerre d'Argent prize winner 2016), the Saisons de Meaux and Ifly wind tunnel in La Villette. In 2016, Thomas Argence created his own company, CLARITY.
Clarity provides lighting design expertise in the development of architectural projects.
Beyond our technical know-how, our approach is to get involved in the understanding of a project and its architectural concept, in order to propose creative, original and innovative solutions.

OUR LIGHTING CAPABILITIES :
The reasons for the company name 'Clarity' are threefold. Clarity is a criterion for lighting, an essential quality in consulting and also a business value.
In lighting : Clarity defines the brightness of a surface. In colorimetry, it is defined as a value ranging from 0 (black) to 100 (white)..
In consulting : it is fundamental for a consultant to be able to express themselves clearly to best advise their clients.
As a business value : we strive for clarity in both our approach to work and our professional relationships.
